Audition for Us!

We hold auditions at the beginning of each semester. Our audition process is coordinated with the other two groups on campus. The process consists of an optional but helpful audition workshop the night before auditions after our beginning of the semester jam with the M&Cs and the Nice Shoes. At that workshop you’ll learn exactly what to expect at auditions and have an opportunity to ask any questions. The next day all groups will hold 15 minute auditions with interested singers. Our auditions consist of a range check, matching a short tune played on the piano, picking a note from a chord, doing a round with us, and having the opportunity to try vocal percussion. We also ask that you prepare a verse and chorus (or equal length clip) of any song that showcases your voice. The evening of your audition we’ll let you know via email if you’re being asked back for a callback which is two hours the day after auditions. During callbacks you’ll learn a part in a song and sing it with members of our group and other singers who are at the callback. You are more than welcome to attend multiple callbacks if you are invited back but unfortunately after the callback process if you are admitted into more than one group you have to pick one.  More information about audition dates and times including the spreadsheet to sign up for an audition slot will be uploaded here closer to the weekend of auditions. This information will also be updated on our social media pages or you can find us in the Blanch lobby during the week leading up to auditions.
